It will kick the crap out of doing a long slow jog, and will win over boring tedious cardio. This form of exercise will not only burn your belly fat faster, but it also trains your heart to handle every day stressors and become stronger.
What are wind sprints? It is not just for runners. It can be used in any exercise like: walking, rowing, biking, running, swimming. To do these exercises effectively, all you have to do is push yourself beyond what is comfortable so that you become very winded. Then you return back to a slow level of activity.
How To?
First of all, stretch your body so that you are all loose and warmed up. While running. Do a 50 yard wind sprint, sprinting the entire way. Once you stop, walk around as you catch your breath for 20 seconds. Don’t ever just stop and sit, always keep moving. Now sprint another 50 yards, and then walk around for another 20 seconds. Do this for 3-4 reps and you will have an extremely effective workout that only took 5 minutes.
Remember, during sprinting the point is to get winded so that you are breathing hard and sweating. If your not breathing hard, than your not pushing yourself hard enough. This level is different for everyone. A man that is 50 pounds overweight might get winded while walking quickly up a hill. Others might have to sprint as hard as they can for 100 yards. So just make sure that you pay attention and make sure that you push your body hard enough to actually get winded.
Supercharge Your Wind Sprints!
While sprints alone are better than long and moderate exercises, mixing it in with your regular workouts are even better. In other words, still go for that jog, but throw in a wind sprint and then return back to jogging. Or go for a bike ride, but throw in some 30 second sprints during your ride. You will quickly notice a difference after you ad some high intensity exercise into your workouts.
You do NOT have to push as hard as you can to get winded! You just need to go harder than your normal activity. Pay attention to your body! If your breathing hard, than your doing something right!
